Even we have a disclaimer.

You with the Spock ears. Out of the gene pool. Now.

No more dropping bits of rubber into the engine!

What it is: The original tensioner plug is made of rubber, and like most British rubber, it degrades quickly. Its life is not made any easier by ever-present heat and oil. This clear-anodized 6061-aluminum tensioner plug completely replaces the original, and it is reusable. It has a sealing O-ring made of Viton to better survive the environment, and it locks into place using a checkball. It has a threaded hole for inserting a standard 1/4-20 bolt when it's time to remove the plug.

What you get: One new tensioner plug.

Why you'd want it: This plug is going to stay sealed, it's not going to break into little pieces and fall into the oil pan, and it's reusable.

Where you can get it: United Tool has made a limited batch of these revised plugs. Contact Ron Kelnhofer for purchasing information.

Our involvement: We took design considerations from Jaguar enthusiasts and worked with the vendor to create a viable solution.
