Pull your pants half up already.

Stop this notorious engine leak once and for all.

What it is: The Jaguar V12 cylinder heads (and the AJ6 inline-six cylinder head) have a couple of cuts in them generally referred to as half-moons. The plugs intended to seal them have two failings: one, they're British rubber and therefore well on their way to being rotted out before even finishing the trip across the Atlantic; two, they're squashed in place with the cam cover gasket, making for a really lousy seal. The end result is that sooner or later the half-moon is going to be the source of an oil leak. These plugs fit in place of the originals; made of anodized 6061 aluminum, they're not going to degrade and fall out anytime soon. They also provide a good mating surface for the cam cover gasket, and come with a length of Viton o-ring material to provide a good seal.

What you get: One half-moon seal with Viton sealing strip.

Why you'd want it: No more leaks from the back of the cam covers. Ever.

Where you can get it: United Tool has made a limited batch of these seals. Contact Ron Kelnhofer for purchasing information.

Our involvement: We took design considerations from Jaguar enthusiasts and worked with the vendor to create a viable solution.
