Here are some detail shots of my 1984 928S that is for sale. I have focused on photos that show
the defects of the car so that you will have an honest view of it. Nice exterior shots are located in
the Hall of Grand
Touring. This car is now sold. We have kept these photos on line for the interest of our readers.
Both mirrors have this speckling on them. It doesn't appear in quantity anywhere else. I don't know what it is.
The air dam is cracked, thanks to Mr Tow Truck Man, when the car was towed for the radiator repair. I'm told the new ones are more flexible and won't crack. This one is zip tied securely so it's not an urgent repair.
A couple of nicks around the drive-side lock from previous owners with long nails, or no porch lights, or both.
The passenger-side covering in the trunk has just recently pulled away from its backing. The 928 list says you can just pull it back and staple or glue it into place.
The worst of the interior: heat warped the dashboard around the defroster vents.
Passenger front seat shows reasonable wear for the age. Previous owner was unmarried.
Driver's side shows more wear. This is the worst seat in the car.
Driver's door is good except grilles for the speakers fell off. I have them but haven't tried reinstalling yet.
Passenger door looks fine.
Passenger view of the dash shows waviness, plus lower center vent has lost most of its teeth.
Driver view of the dash is pretty good.
A view up the middle. Rear area is in pretty good shape.
The tool kit is missing one item. I don't know what it was.
The car runs strong; it was always our daily driver until the radiator let go in June.
I don't know of any mechanical issues with the drivetrain aside from a slight tranny drip from the pan gasket.
The back seats are in pretty good shape.
Another look at the engine.
